WACKYMAN Donor Drive - Jump In And Save A Life
Join the Marrow Donor Registry Thursday May 15th @ Pump It Up 3632 Frankford Rd.
|
What is the WACKYMAN Donor Drive? | : |
Members of NTWSA Irving Strike team and friends have come together for the WACKYMAN DONOR DRIVE to recruit donors for the National Marrow Donor Program.
|
Why? | : |
NTWSA Irving Strike player Kym Webster's son, Austin is an active 16-year-old marching band and FFA member who has been diagnosed
with Myelodysplasia, a blood platelet disorder. The only permanent cure for his
condition is a marrow or stem cell transplant.
The Wackyman group is recruiting donors for the
Marrow Donor registry, in hopes of finding a match for Austin and other children & adults needing
transplants. It’s quick and easy to register – and it could mean the difference to
someone in need.
The Wacky Man was created by cartoonist Sean Higgins who lost the fight against leukemia in 1999. Sean is the brother of
another Irving Strike player.
|

1. Attend this or any Marrow Donor Registration event. 2. Sign a consent form.
3. Do a quick cheek swab. No needles to register. 4. You
must be between 18 and 60
years of age; in general good
