What is the WACKYMAN Donor Drive?
:
Members of NTWSA Irving Strike team and friends have come together for the WACKYMAN DONOR DRIVE to recruit donors for the National Marrow Donor Program.
Unoffical Results
:
250 Attendees (adults and kids), 180 donors registered.
Why?
:
NTWSA Irving Strike player Kym Webster's son, Austin is an active 16-year-old marching band and FFA member who has been diagnosed with Myelodysplasia, a blood platelet disorder. The only permanent cure for his condition is a marrow or stem cell transplant.

The Wackyman group is recruiting donors for the Marrow Donor registry, in hopes of finding a match for Austin and other children & adults needing transplants. It’s quick and easy to register – and it could mean the difference to someone in need.

The Wacky Man was created by cartoonist Sean Higgins who lost the fight against leukemia in 1999. Sean is the brother of another Irving Strike player.
