NTWSA Rules for Calculating Standing Points from a Single Game Scores:

When Someone Wins
Winning Team Points Earned:
  • Add 6 points for the win
  • Add up to 3 points for goals scored
  • Add 1 point for a shutout (i.e. the losing team scored 0 goals)
  • Subtract any points for league rules violations
Losing Team Points Earned:
  • Add up to 3 points for goals scored
  • Subtract any points for league rules violations
For a Tie Game
Standing Points Earned for Both teams:
  • Add 3 points for the tie
  • Add up to 3 points for each goal scored
  • No points are given for a shutout
  • Subtract any points for league rules violations
